		<description><![CDATA[From the trenches...I salute you!  

Combating administrators that are, understandably, forced into corners by API scores;  the more we dialogue about how the arts may be assessed, the fact that students actually become more involved in school, participation and attendance increase, scores increase, and the community becomes more involved continue to undergird our argument for the arts.

The fact that artists often do their best work when times get tough is a testimony to creativity, problem-solving and overall innovation.

Yes, these are tough times.  No one will dispute that.  But, I am encouraged that in these tough moments, artists ALWAYS bear fruit and stick it out in the clutch.  Their passion does not die simply because our budgets are cut.  I believe that it is due to this passion that we are still breathing ~ even if barely, at times.

The arts will prevail!  They must.
